2 Month Progress
So it’s been almost 2 months since I started training with my personal trainer. The scale isn’t budging much, but I’m pretty excited about some small changes that I’ve noticed in my physique. Before a trainer, I’d been working out and seeing no changes. This time is a little different. For starters, my shoulders & trapezius are getting some shape to them. This is most noticeable when I’m wearing a tank top, which I often do for my workouts. Now, I already had a booty, but now I’m told that it sits up a little higher. Also, there are these two soft dimples on my back where my shoulder blades are. It looks as if I’m losing some back fat in those areas. Lord knows that my back needs some help! I have several rolls that need to diminish, immediately! And check this out, I wore a pair of jeans last week and they were looser in the crotch area. How about that for starters!?!?
Again, not any significant changes on the scale. I know that I’m building muscle. But on top of that, I must admit that I haven’t been 100% compliant with my meal plan. I have 101 reasons (aka EXCUSES), but I’ll spare you the time to read them all. My biggest challenges are stress due to family issues AND sugar cravings. My closest friends and family would agree that my stressors are pretty serious in nature. But I’m still trying to find effective ways to manage, including exercising. At this point, I’m committed and I don’t care how long it takes. I’m in it for the long haul.
What keeps me going!
Over the weekend, I was seeing some pictures on my Instagram feed. Pictures on my trainer’s account, of some of his other clients that had competed in a bodybuilding competition this weekend. There was one picture of all his clients lined up side-by-side and I had a vision of myself in the line-up. I could see it, clear as day. And seeing the other clients, and reading about their successes motivated me to keep moving forward. And here’s the BONUS motivation…..sometimes I even see eye candy while at the gym! Yep, that makes me work a little harder too. LOL
All in all, things are coming along. I have wonderful accountability partners that are proactively reaching out to check my progress (Glenda, Keli, Denise). You, too, are my accountability partner. So don’t be afraid to comment and ask me what’s going on (if you haven’t heard from me in a while).
